Disability Claim Denials

VA disability claims are often denied because the VA fails to establish a service connection—typically due to a flawed C&P exam, missing records, or a lack of supporting evidence. We help identify the causes of your denial, gather alternative documentation, and rebuild your appeal with stronger evidence that gives you a better chance of success.

When your VA rating doesn’t reflect the severity of your condition, you have the right to challenge that decision. At Freedom Claims Agency, we help you pursue higher ratings—reviewing your decision letter, identifying what was overlooked, strengthening your case with missing evidence, and guiding you through every step of the appeals process.

Disability TDIU Assistance

If your service-connected conditions keep you from working, you may qualify for TDIU benefits at the 100% rate—even if your VA rating is lower. We’ll help you appeal your denied TDIU claim by gathering strong evidence, working with vocational experts, and building a persuasive case that proves your inability to maintain gainful employment.
Reduction Appeals Icon

Disability Reduction & Severance Appeals

If the VA believes your condition has improved, they may try to reduce or sever your disability rating. Once you receive a notice from the VA, you have a limited window to respond. When you reach out to us for help, we’ll help you understand the notice, request a hearing, collect compelling evidence, and take action before the change becomes final.

Disability Survivor Appeals (DIC Appeals)

A denied DIC claim can leave your family overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. We’ll help you take control of your appeal—reviewing VA decisions, identifying missed service connections, gathering strong supporting evidence, and building a focused appeal to pursue the benefits your family deserves

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about a VA disability appeal and what to expect from your case? Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions we hear from veterans navigating the VA appeals process.

  • How long do I have to file an appeal?

You generally have one year from the date on your decision letter to initiate an appeal.

  • What types of evidence can help my appeal?

To improve the chance of your appeal succeeding, you’ll need to support it with strong evidence—including updated medical records, service treatment records, personal statements, buddy statements, and nexus letters from medical professionals that link your condition to your service.

  • How long does the VA appeals process take?

The timeframe varies depending on the type of appeal and case complexity. Board Appeals can take two to three years or more, while Higher-Level Reviews and Supplemental Claims typically take six months to a year.

  • What if I miss the deadline for my appeal?

If the deadline for your appeal has passed, you can still file a Supplemental Claim—as long as you include new and relevant evidence. When you work with Freedom Claims Agency, we’ll help you figure out if that’s the right path for your case.

  • Do I need a representative for my appeal?

Although you aren’t required to have a representative, working with an experienced claims agent or attorney can ensure your case is presented clearly and effectively—improving your chances of success.
